Charlotte Steuby is a 2022 IFMA Education Foundation scholarship recipient. She attends the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and is studying food science.
Charlotte’s story:
When I graduate in May of 2024, I hope to start a career in research and development, specifically beverage applications. My first internship was with International Food Products Corporation, which specializes in dry blends of dairy beverage ingredients. There, I fell in love with dairy, and I intend to continue working with beverages, desserts, and snack foods using dairy.
I am also interested in pursuing a profession as a flavorist, which would require a seven-year training program. I see numerous paths to success in my future, but I am positive that I will pursue my ambitions in the food sector.
I am intrinsically motivated to seize every opportunity that comes my way. I enjoy studying the subjects that most interest me, serving as co-president of the Food Product Development Club, and gaining work experience at the Integrated Bioprocessing Research Laboratory.
How the scholarship will help Charlotte, in her own words:
Not only will this scholarship alleviate some of the financial burden of tuition for me and my family, but I am also thrilled that you have chosen to acknowledge my academic accomplishments and my passion for the food industry.
Although I have accomplished a great deal throughout my time at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I am prone to forgetting this because I did not intend to obtain credit or acknowledgment for my accomplishments.
