Mike Hickey, former Executive Vice President & President, Global Institutional at Ecolab, Receives IFMA’s Distinguished Foodservice Executive Award

CHICAGO, November 3, 2020—IFMA is proud to award its Distinguished Foodservice Executive Award to Michael Hickey, for his dedication to the foodservice industry and his service on the IFMA Board of Directors.

Hickey is only the seventh person to receive this award in IFMA's 68-year history. The award was established to honor executives who have made outstanding contributions to the foodservice industry and have served on the IFMA Board of Directors.

"Mike’s dedication and leadership while Chairman of the IFMA Board of Directors has been invaluable,” said Larry Oberkfell, President & CEO, IFMA. “He was instrumental in leading and prioritizing the efforts of the Association to guide what our members and the foodservice community truly needed. Mike is a genuine leader in our industry!"

Hickey joined the IFMA Board of Directors in 2006 after many years of active membership and support. In 2011, he was named IFMA Board Chairman and provided leadership on key IFMA initiatives that shaped the success of the Association and served the IFMA Membership. Hickey recently retired as executive vice president and president of Global Institutional for Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services that protect people and vital resources.

Excellence and service to the foodservice industry runs deep in the Hickey family. Hickey’s father, William J Hickey Jr., was the recipient of the 1986 IFMA Silver Plate Award in the College & University category while at University of Notre Dame.
